We are seeking highly motivated students to be a part of our RAMP program.  These paid summer internship opportunities are designed to jump start your career, offering on-the-job training and a robust summer of events.  As a RAMP participant, you'll work alongside technology industry professionals on real-world projects, giving you the tools and experience to get your career off the ground. You get to work alongside the brightest minds in the industry to drive the innovation necessary to outpace new demands and challenges created by data. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of what data can do. Help unlock its full potential. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current student, pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field and graduating between December 2018 and June 2019
  • PhD in control system theory and servo control
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills in area of study
  • Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong team-player who can collaborate with colleagues

The intern will work on designing and implementing MATLAB tools to facilitate feedback control design. This includes simulation, visualization, and quantification of closed-loop system performance and robustness. This also includes GUI design and implementation. The intern should have:

  • Expertise in MIMO control system analysis, including metrics of performance and robustness
  • Knowledge of stochastic noise modeling
  • Strong MATLAB programming skills, including object-oriented programming
  • Familiarity with GUI implementation in MATLAB via guide
  • Familiarity with C++, including object-oriented programming
